Close Sensing Radar Systems enhanced by Microwave Tomography for IED detection and localization

This paper deals with the use of radar systems for IED detection and characterization. In particular, the focus is on advanced data processing able to make the radar images fully usable for the purposes at hand. Moreover, open scientific and technical challenges for a real use of these technologies in the operative conditions are briefly sketched out.
