Studio per l'uso di un modello di Simulazione di Ecosistemi Forestali a scala regionale.

In order to test the regional applicability of the FOREST-BGC model to simulate some of the most important forest bio-geo-chemical cycles, the geographical data base created for this purpose is presented together with the first results of the model testing. Using daily LAI values derived from NOAA AVHRR NDVI images to better drive the simulation, an estimation of Net Primary Productivity has obtainde in the period 1983-1996 for a Tyrkey oak stands in the experimental area of Valsavignone (Arezzo, Italy). The resutls are compared with Stem Annual Increments derived from radial growth of some representative trees.
