The Activated Sludge (AS) Process is old technology but is still adopetd worldwide for its convenience and simplicity. Occasionally problems such as bulking and foaming do occur, causing violations of standards and regulations, and requiring large investements to control them. Consequently an inense research effort effort has been made during the last few decades to address tghe problems, and this Report details the work undertaken by the IWA Specilasit Group on Activated Sludge Poultion Dynamics.
