Precursors for the preparation of superconducting thin films via MOCVD

The synthesis and characterization of some Ba-acetylacetonato derivatives and of Ba isopropoxide Ba(OPri)2 have been carried out under oxygen and moisture free conditions in order to obtain pure materials. Ba(OPri)2 appears as a convenient starting material in the organometallic chemistry of barium. In addition the potential use of Tl( 5-C5H5) as Tl precursor has been explored by studying the products of its thermal decomposition under vacuum and in oxygen atmosphere.
