abstract:
The effects of ambient gas type and pressure on the surface quality of melt spun Fe73.5Si13.5B9Cu1Nb3 soft magnetic alloy ribbons has been studied and the influence of surface roughness on the coercivity, Hc, of these ultra-soft magnetic materials determined. The coercivity of ribbons heat treated to developed minimum Hc increased as a function of ambient chamber pressure, Pamb.
