Abstract:
The reduction of vehicle pollutant emissions and fuel consumption is a major challenge for Italy, as
part of the commitments made at the European level. In this context an experimental campaign is realized with
some instrumented cars, able to acquire kinematic data and emission. Particularly it has been realized the
comparisons of fuel consumptions and emissions on road during real world experimental tests. Tests were
performed on different routes of the city of Naples: Route A, an area mostly plane, and Route B, in which
orography changes suddenly in slope. Each trip realized by vehicles is subdivided in succession of kinematic
sequences and the vehicle emissions and fuel consumption are analyzed and presented as value on each
kinematic sequence. So it is particularly important the exact location on the path realized by car both in terms
of latitude and longitude coordinate than in altimetry. In this paper in the context of qualitatively and
quantitatively approach to the correlation study between driving cycles/emission/geographical location, some
preliminary results relative to a methodology for the reconstruction of GPS coordinates and altitude will be
shown.
