Abstract · The Tomb N83 of Demetria at Cyrene in a
3D perspective: evaluating the light in a funerary space ·
The lighting in a funerary space assumes different
values and functions. Roman rock-cut Tomb N83 at
Cyrene offers a controlled case-study to analyze
quantity and quality of an interior lighting performance
in a 3d model using virtual prototypes of
ancient oil clay lamps. The analysis of the tomb in
such perspective opened new questions useful to
better consider some architectural features, the
possible dynamics of the ritual practices inside the
funerary chamber and the perception of it. The 3d
model contributes also to preserve, valorise and
p romote the cultural heritage of modern Libya.
