Il Complesso carsico dell'Antro del Corchia (Alpi Apuane - Toscana): misurazione e valutazione del valore del geosito - The Antro del Corchia Karst Complex (Apuan Alps - Tuscany): measurement and evaluation of the geosite value

The Antro del Corchia Karst Complex is a geosite/geomorphosite already considered of national or global scientific interest one, through a brief evaluation. This paper uses various quantitative assessment methods to verify these opinions and reduce their subjectivity. Several indicators have been used with the aim of evaluating not only its scientific value (unique, representativeness, knowledge, etc.), but also other additional values (cultural, aesthetic, ecological, etc.) and/or its use value (accessibility, services, limitations, etc.) and/or its protection/conservation value (integrity, vulnerability, etc.). The results of the quantitative assessment methods applied to this geosite/geomorphosite are above or at the top of the indicator ranges relating to comparative examples. This approach confirms the distinct and overall values of the Karst Complex and its likely interest of international level in the scientific field, despite the limits of the quantitative assessment methods for geosites/geomorphosites.
