abstract:
Migration is a complex social phenomenon that involves the possession of clear framework allowing for the appropriate calibration of interventions, while also trying to interpret future trends. The existential state of migration leads to the formation of multiple, diasporic identities, deterritorialized and recompiled at the individual level. The inclusion of immigrants is therefore the result of two-way processes in which the social representations that migrants construct of the population and of the host society (before and after their arrival) and the intangible resources that they experience are of paramount importance. lntegration is "an evolutionary process", and integration policies need to be elaborated according to a logic that supports access to services, language learning, and the fight against discrimination. On this latter aspect, a strongly discriminating variable is gender and sexuality linked to it: theoretical and methodological challenges suggest the intersecting of a perspective that takes into account the interconnection of gender, sexuality, and migration.
