Work aims at providing methodology that assist crutial decision making process, which happens before deployment or reconfiguration of a machine-tool based manufacturing plant, for better plant operation in terms of overall cost and enegy consumption. These decisions include optimal machine choice, configuration, process fine tuning and manufacturing system management using energy saving policies.
