The concepts of living and non-living have changed over the course of time that goes from the ancient Greeks to the present day. Along this period, the specificity of living or has been associated with a particular matter, active such as the chemical one, or was regarded as a product of the organization of a passive matter. Nowadays, these two roads can be merged in a chemical perspective in the light of the general reflections on the complexity and the systemic, in a perspective of "systemic complexity".
