abstract:
The chapter analyses the Homebound School Education service in Italy, focusing particularly on the results of a national survey on the educational use of technologies in educating students who for health reasons are unable to regularly attend school. Analysis of these results shows that technologies are being used in ways which are not wholly suitable for dealing with problematic situations. In such situations, if they are based on effective models and educational strategies, they might instead be precious allies in the social/educational inclusion of homebound students.
