abstract:
T. magnatum is a special truffle with distinctive features in relation to all the other Tuber spp. Stemming from problems related to its cultivation, we review the recent breakthroughs on the life cycle and population genetics of this fungus. Perspectives and approaches that might be of help to deepen our understanding on ecology and biology of this species are also discussed.
