Verso la conservazione programmata degli arredi lapidei nei giardini storici: il caso di studio del giardino della Villa Guicciardini Corsi Salviati

The conservation of heritage requires an interdisciplinary approach that allows a comprehensive understanding of the state of conservation of the object of interest, and a planning of the restoration or maintenance intervention appropriate to the artifact included in the particular context of the garden - in the amphitheater, close to the central fountain, close the fishpond, up the delimiting walls, on the roof of the villa and in the small loggia. The intervention as such is totally at the expense of restorers, that involve scientists to support for settling some operational choice, such as, for example, to evaluate the compatibility of a product with a previous treatment. This contribution provides guidelines for restoration, maintenance and for the maintenance scheduling of marble stones furnishings in the garden of Villa Guicciardini Corsi Salviati. The approach established in this context has a general validity and can be generalized and applied to other historical gardens.
