abstract:
In the social and economic context, the marine environment and the marine metal material protection stand for the important issues which should be solved with unique solutions.
The technology allows to find good coating products as far as the corrosion resistance and the antifouling property are concerned, while the new more and more demanding EC standards, being aimed at the protection of the environment, require a deeper insight and relaunch the active principles used for the various formulations. In such a context, the silicone coatings could stand for a good compromise with the purpose of tackling these two factors together, aiming at good solutions.
In this work some methods are listed which have been tested on the silicone products and which have shown to be effective as a prevention step as these coating films could really provide the substrate with a protection property against the degradation in a sea environment.
