Vulci ed il suo territorio: area urbana, necropoli e viabilità. Applicazioni di cartografia archeologica e fotogrammetria finalizzata

Vulci and the Territory: the Ancient City, Cemeteries and Road Conditions Archaeological Mapping and Photogrammetric Applications This work presents the results of research on the Etruscan city of Vulci and the surrounding area with examples of archaeological mapping, photogrammetry and image processing (rectification of oblique images, georeferencing, vectorial images, etc...). The most significant acquisitions are: - reconstruction of the urban plan; - the identification of a large square to the west of the acropolis, perhaps the Etruscan forum; - the identification of a semicircular building (probably a theater) at the south-west corner of the Roman forum. In the suburban area many tombs within the cemetery and the road connecting the coastal strip and the other old centers with Vulci are mapped.
