Evaluation of Finger Tapping Test Accuracy using the LeapMotion and the Intel RealSense Sensors

Conference Paper
Publication Date:
2015
abstract:
The availability of new low-cost devices for the LeapMotion and the RealSense show difficulties in bare-hand tracking favors the development of systems for the reconstructing the fingertips trajectories. We observe a automatic assessment of a standard test for motor impairment in sensible amplitude attenuation in the former case and multiple Parkinson's Disease, such as Finger Tapping. A reliable missing closures in the latter. At present the accuracy of the assessment requires the evaluation of the device accuracy in LeapMotion and RealSense hand trackers is thus not sufficient fingers tracking. The paper presents preliminary results on the for a reliable reconstruction of FT trajectories and our evaluation of the accuracy of two representative devices: glove-based HCI approach represents a preferable solution for LeapMotionĀ® and RealSenseĀ®.
