A case of progressive dying which has been detected since several years in an over fifty year old beech coppice in the Ferdinandea forest, on the jonic side of the Calabrian Serre, at 1,100 m above sea level, is here described. The disease symptoms appear to start as a chlorosis of the crown, and following dieback. In time the death of the whole tree occurs. In this note, external and internal symptoms are described in detail and the results from the isolation and from the pathogenic tests of the isolated fungi are recorded. The aim of the present note is to describe the progression of the disease on the trees
