Composizione fenolica ed attività antiossidante di alcune specie spontanee eduli della Macchia Mediterranea

abstract:
Phenolic composition and antioxidant activity of some Mediterranean bush wild edible species (Cichorium intybus L., Sonchus oleraceus L., Helminthotheca echioides L., Asphodeline lutea (L.) Rchb., Asparagus tenuifolius Lam.) were evaluated. All species were found to contain phenolic acids (i.e. chlorogenic acid) and flavonoids (quercetin, apigenin, luteolin, kaempferol and isorhamnetin glycosides). In regard to antioxidant activity, C. intybus was found about four times more active than S. oleraceus, that exceeded H. echioides, A. lutea and A. tenuifolius.
