abstract:
In GPR prospecting strong reflections due to background medium interfaces can hinder the detection of localized buried scatterers. In order to mitigate such clutter, some background removal (clutter rejection) methods can be employed. In this paper, different background removal methods such as a the average trace subtraction, the subspace projection and the entropy time-gating are compared against experimental data collected under laboratory conditions. © 2013 EMA.
