Abstract:
The present work aims to assess the exposure of young people due to two 5G wearable devices. The two antennas are posed on the trunk of the male and female teenager virtual models, in order to simulate typical scenarios in which the wearable devices are used. For the exposure assessment, the
extracted parameters have been the Specific Absorption Rate averaged over 10 grams of tissue and the Absorbed Power Density averaged over a square of 4-cm2 over the skin, depending on the frequency of the EMF emitted by the antenna, with an input power of 100 mW. The results showed no overcome of limit values set by international regulation in any of the cases when the input power is set as realistic values. Moreover, evident differences between the male and female model were observed in both studied cases.
