Tests of thermal treatment in conditions of saturated vapour pressure, with different combination
of time/temperature (from 140° to 180° C), were performed on spruce sawn timber from 30 to
200 mm thick. The objective was to study the influence of the combination of temperature and
time (of exposition to a given temperature) on the colour and on the residual physical and
mechanical properties of the treated wood.
