Abstract

abstract:
Radiation-induced hypothyroidism (RHT) is one of the complications affecting the quality of life (QOL) of patients undergoing radiation therapy for Hodgkin lymphoma (HL). Development of effective normal tissue complication probability (NTCP) models may help to improve HL quality of life. The purpose of the study is (1) to estimate the parameters of Lyman-Kutcher-Burman (LKB) and relative seriality (RS) models for RHT and (2) to compare their prediction performances with that of a published 3-variable logistic model including gender, the absolute thyroid volume exceeding 30 Gy, and thyroid gland volume.
