abstract:
The wollastonite mineralization, cropping out in the Oridda area (SW Sardinia) is hosted by the Cambrian limestones. The limestones were strongly metamorphized by the Hercynian plutonites of the Monte Linas complex.
The most important mineralized areas are located near Monte Guisi and in the area of Gutturu Is Abis. Besides wollastonite, the other mineral phases are garnets, calcite, quartz; pyroxenes, K-feldspar and vesuvianite in minor amount occur. Rather than by heat propagation from the pliutonite, the genesis of wollastonite can be attribute to late Hercynian high-SiO2 fluid circulation
