Coherent Synthesis of ultra-broadband Optical Parametric Amplifiers

We report on coherent synthesis of outputs from two ultra-broadband optical amplifiers; their timing is locked to sub-30-as by a balanced cross-correlator. pulses have octave-spanning (500-1000 nm) spectra and nearly single-cycle 3.8-fs duration.
