abstract:
Data used in this work have been collected in three surveys carried out by IRPPS in some Italian cities. Surveys have the main purpose to collect attitudes and opinions of Italian adolescents (aged 13 -14 and 16-18) towards recent population issues such as family trends, migration and gender roles. In the research both quantitative and qualitative methods are used. The quantitative survey on student's attitudes in fact, follows a number of face-to-face interviews to key -persons, selected as experts in the field of education (parents, teachers, school managers, local administrators and leaders of associations related to youth issues). By applying lexical analysis techniques on the texts of the interviews conducted during the field work in the cities participating to the survey (Milan, Salerno, Venezia) text contents are synthesised without any coding. The purpose is to grasp the structure and the patterns of the contents displayed by the language, to compare views and opinions towards the different topics of the survey among the cities. Further results are expected by the lexical correspondences analysis: this is to outline the overall structure of the content, considering differences and similarities in the language used by the interviewed key persons in the three cities. The analysis includes: frequency analysis on single forms and repeated segments, specific and banal forms, and modal phrases.
