Transport phenomena in polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells

Chapter
Publication Date:
2021
abstract:
In the field of polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFC) a key role is played by polymer electrolyte membranes. In this chapter, a description of the main transport phenomena that occur in polymer electrolyte membranes are described. Moreover, the structural and chemical, physical and electrochemical characteristics of the main proton and anionic exchange polymers, currently used in PEFC, are reported.
