abstract:
The quality of a wine is the result of a complex interaction between climatic conditions, geological, morphological and pedagogical characteristics, and the behaviour of the vine, the cultivation and the culture of a wine region. The idea of writing a book on the connection between geology and wines came from, Gianpaolo Pialli, prof. Cita. Who already had experience of the geological regional guides. The GIS (Geographic Information Systems) is the ideal tool to manage and to represent the numerous characteristics of the different productive areas. It allows the virtual management of innumerable cartographic layers with different thematic content and correlates different themes giving them different weights in model computation. Web GIS technology is a powerful tool to support landscape analysis and promotion.
