The article focuses on the Italian ratification process of the Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Abuse of the Council of Europe of 25 October 2007, commonly known as 'Lanzarote Convention', ratified by Italy with Law No. 172 of 1 OCTOBER 2012. The Lanzarote Convention represnts the first international human rights treaty regulating sexual abuse against children.
