Aspetti qualitativi e quantitativi dello scarto di pesca nel Canale di Sicilia

We report some data related to a research carried out in 1990 in the Sicilian Channel that values fishing discard and its possible use as animal feeding. The discard quantity recorded during our observations was about 25%. A bromatological analysis of the discard showed, in the dry substance, protein value equal to 70%. This result underlines the great potentiality of this proteinic source as feeding integrator.
