Protein conduction and negative differential resistance in large-scale nanojunction arrays

Academic Article
Publication Date:
2007
abstract:
Transport in molecular tunnel junctions (see image) based on the blue-copper protein Azurin is investigated at the single-molecule level under ambient conditions. The conduction of Azurin is governed by tunneling processes through molecular redox levels and the pathway for the charge transport inside the molecule is discussed. This novel fabrication allows for nanojunction arrays for complex circuits of nano-objects
