Abstract:
Electrospinning is a simple and versatile process for producing small diameter fibres (nanofibres). However, in spite of the large potential application of electrospun nanofibres, further process developments are still necessary to achieve a decisive productivity breakthrough of the electrospinning plants. Increasing the knowledge about multi-jet electrospinning is crucial for the development of industrial devices for industrial scale nanofibre production. This paper reports on the effect of multi-nozzle electrospinning configurations and nanofibre deposition on textiles. In addition, the shielding of the electric field, jet-jet interactions, electrospinning conditions, nanofibre morphology, stability of the jets, nanofibre deposition and adhesion on the collecting substrates were studied.
