Orienting Teachers Towards Flexible Education: Implications of Technology

Academic Article
Publication Date:
2001
abstract:
Information and communication technology (ICT) seems to have the potential to renew the education system in accordance with the emerging need of making learning a life-long- activity. To render this potential effective, however, the education system has to rethink the teacher's role; accordingly, new approaches to training have to be studied so to allow teachers to avail themselves of ICT and play their new role. These problems are discussed in this paper, on the basis of the experience we carried out in two different contexts: training of school teachers and training of enterprise trainers.
