Cross-language information retrieval: recent trends

Cross-language information retrival is a multidisciplinary area which integrates tools and methodologies from the fields of information retrival, natural language processing and human-computer interaction among others. Three main areas are involved: multi-language text rendering and processing, cross-language searching; filtering, merging and presentation of result. This overview will briefly list the main issues of interest in each of these areas, focusing on those sector where research efforts are currently being concentrated, and identifyng some of the main problems that remain to be solved.
