Demersal Landing and Trawl Effort Data Along the Southern Coast of Sicily (MINIPESTAT Program)

A Summary report is given for the first time of a two year program of landing and effort sampling in the ports of southern Sicily from trawlers performing 1-2 day trips. Objectives and limits of the exercise are specified. Results from a long series of yearly frame-surveys on all kinds of fishing vessels operating in the same area are also given. First estimates of landings are provided and briefly commented.
