Assessment of fetal exposure to 4G LTE tablet in realistic scenarios using stochastic dosimetry

Conference Paper
Publication Date:
2017
abstract:
Stochastic dosimetry is a promising approach that combines electromagnetic computational techniques and statistics to build surrogate models that can be used for the assessment of the EMF exposure accounting for variability and uncertainty intrinsic of real scenarios. In this study, we will use stochastic dosimetry to assess the exposure of a fetus at 9 months of gestational age to a 4G LTE tablet, analyzing how the exposure changes when moving the tablet in a range of positions representative of realistic exposure scenarios. Polynomial chaos theory, applied to build surrogate models of Specific Absorption Rate (SAR), will permit a fast estimation of the variability of the exposure due to the variation in the tablet position.
