Actually transferred alternating spin profiles in low-PMD fibers: Short-range reconstruction

Spin profiles transferred into fibers during the drawing process are accurately determined by jointly exploiting an experimental cut-back method with a deterministic waveplate model. In particular, sinusoidal spin profiles are reconstructed, experimentally confirming the existence of a substantial discrepancy between the applied spin and the one actually frozen in the fiber. © 2006 IEEE.
