Genetic identification of fish larvae in formaldeyde fixed plankton samples.

With the development of new methods to sequence DNA from preserved organism we reported protocols and success rates for amplifying and sequencing regions of the genomic 28S ribosomal RNA and mitochondrial 16S rDNA. The samples were caught wit a Bongo 60 net during June 2006 in the ambit of POR MARE Project financed by Sicily area.
