abstract:
The book is a result of the project "Famine and Feast in Piedmont popular literature. Cultural and territorial promotion", funded by Fondazione CRT and directed by IRCrES, the Research Institute on Sustainable Economic Growth of the National Research Council of Italy with the collaboration of ISRAL - Centro di cultura popolare "Giuseppe Ferraro". The book gathers fifty-five poems by Giovanni Rapetti set in a lost rural world that is a little peasant community on the banks of Tanaro, between the two wars. The cycle of the seasons gives people the rhythm of their lives. Their hard work to get safe basic foodstuff (bread, wine, cornmeal mush...) dominates the set where scenes of every lives are carried out with emotional participation and realism.
