abstract:
The strengthening and the repairing of masonry walls by means of FRP materials presents great technical and economical interest. The problem at hand needs further studies concerning the necessity not only of modeling the behavior of these structures, but also, urgently, of defining suitable safety coefficients. The paper reports of experimental traction tests on simple masonry columns made by three bricks, and of their numerical simulation by F.E. models developed by the Authors.
