Diagnostic technologies exploiting waves in the frequency range from 0.1 terahertz (THz) to 10 THz (corresponding to a free-space wavelength ranging from 30 m to 3 mm) can be considered as the newest among the sensing and imaging techniques based on electromagnetic waves.
