3D Printed Anatomical Model for Surgical Planning: A Pediatric Hospital Experience

Conference Paper
Publication Date:
2021
abstract:
The clinical use of 3D printed patent-specific anatomical models is of wide interest. The aim of this work is to propose an operative workflow for the production of the 3D printed anatomical models for surgical planning in a clinical cours. The production process has been designed in compliance with the current European Medical Devices (MD) regulation and on the basis of the up-to-date technical reference for 3D printing in medicine. The workflow is designed for the implementation of a quality system for the production of additive manufactured MD to be used in clinical decisions. This approach offers the possibility to introduce new 3D printed MD in clinical practice as well as to design an optimized industrial workflow.
