Variazioni stagionali delle comunità fitoplanctoniche in relazione alle caratteristiche chimico-fisiche nello Stagnone di Marsala (Sicilia Occidentale)

Phytoplankton community structure was investigated in relation to chlorophyll a and dissolved nutrient concentrations in a semi-enclosed marine system (south Mediterranean Sea). The area was characterized by oligo-mesotrophic condition. No qualitative differences were observed in the phytoplankton taxonomic composition between the inner and marine area confirming the marine features of the Stagnone.
