Abstract:
This paper covers the research activities performed at the CNR Institute for Advanced Energy Technologies
"Nicola Giordano", aimed at developing an innovative design of a biogas Steam Reforming (SR) reactor
based on monoliths, able to produce 3 Nm3h-1 of hydrogen. In the present study, the kinetics and heat transfer
features of biogas reforming reactors has been investigated by a modelling approach. In the simulation
analysis, the effects of design parameters on kinetics, biogas conversion and temperature profile in the whole
reactor have been studied. The model plays a key role in overcoming the issues of system design for
reforming reactors
