La ricreazione nella scuola primaria: lo abbiamo chiesto ai bambini

To take a picture of the morning school recreation by listening to the judgment of the children. Methods: questionnaire administered to primary school children in the period January-April 2022 by nine pediatricians. Results: 245 children (average age 8.1 years) from 105 different schools were interviewed; 59.2% said they spent recess inside the classroom. A quarter of the children judged it too short (60; 24.5%); these children stay in class more frequently (p <0.001). Conclusions: many Roman children remain in class from 8 to 13, despite the Constitution recognizing the right to rest and much literature, starting from the 2012 position paper of the American Academy of Pediatrics, has emphasized the numerous beneficial effects on psychophysical and social development. We trust that this work will contribute to substantial changes in school and society to act in favor of the well-being of children.
