Design and planning the development of stratified cities with a long continuity of life is a challenge to the complexity. This book, takes a cue from the outcome obtained at Catania of the TeCHNIC "Tools for cultural heritage management in urban context" research project, financed by the Italian Minister of the University and Research to ISPC-CNR within the funding program "Proof of Concept" and collects papers of eminent researchs, town planners, economists, experts on safeguard and enhancement, on project management and local marketing. They, with the fusion of varoius knowlegde and skills, try to outline a possible future for the historic cities.
