Abstract:
The History of Sardinia, and in particular of its capital, Cagliari, presents a remarkable
presence, first Aragonese, then Spanish, which has become part of the identity of its inhabitants.
However, not always this important cultural imprint has been taken into account, especially from the
point of view of cultural promotion and cultural tourism on the island.cultural and touristic itineraries with an Iberian matrix - or enhance those existing in a new light-
These items are designated both for a national and an international public, and have also a particular
interest for building bridges between Sardinia and the Iberian Peninsula and the other Italian areas
where Spain has had its interests throughout its history.
So, focusing especially on Cagliari, the area of the Campidano and the south of the island,
different historical episodes, symbols, places of remembrance, but also documents, monuments,
works of art, or even words of Sardinian language, cultural and religious traditions, or traditional
dishes of Sardinian culture with an Iberian cultural influence, will be analyzed for how they can be
generators of touristic interest. Moreover, several basic guidelines for devising activities and the
creation of cultural and touristic containers are proposed, individualizing the various social sectors
potentially interested.
