Production of bread wheat lines lacking gliadin components controlled by genes on chromosomes 1D and 6A and evaluation of their nutritional value.
Abstract
Publication Date:
1989
abstract:
Electrophoretical analyses of 130 seeds of the F2 progenies obtained from the cross DariusxRaeder allowed detection of numerous seeds lacking both lD and 6A cluster of gliadin components. Since these materials have a normal seed setting, seeds of these lines were increased and their amino acid composition determined. Results show a slight increase in the amount of almost all the essential amino acids in the double null as compared to the two single null used in the cross.
