Laccase Thin Films Obtained By Pulsed Laser Deposition And Matrix Assisted Pulsed Laser Evaporation: A Comparative Study

Conference Poster
Publication Date:
2013
abstract:
Laccase thin films were produced on glass by Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD) and Matrix Assisted Pulsed Laser Evaporation (MAPLE). We focused our attention on Laccase since it is an enzyme widely used as biological recognition component in biosensors for detecting polyphenols. Thin films molecular structure and surface morphology were evaluated by Fourier Transform InfraRed Spectroscopy and Atomic Force Microscopy respectively. The enzymatic activity was determined by a colorimetric assay using UV-visible spectroscopy. In this work we present a comparative study on the deposition of Laccase thin films obtained by PLD and MAPLE.
