Experimental Observation of Local Birefringence and Axis Rotation in Spun Fibers on a Centimetric Scale

We have measured the evolution of local birefringence along spun fiber samples, with a centimeter resolution scale. Experimental results confirm that the spinning-induced rotation of local birefringence axes reduces the effective fiber birefringence.
